Is this normal?

Ive been diagnosed with endometriosis in 2009 and the gynae put me on depo provera after i had my op to remove a cyst from my ovary (laparoscopy). Ive stopped going for the shot a month before i got married in 2014. My first period appeared immediately the following month and have been coming every month after that but was very irregular (not every 28 days). Been for blood tests, which indicated that me and my hubby are both fertile but we've been trying for a baby ever since we got married. Gynae said there's nothing we can do but to wait for the injection to work out of my system. Don't know what else to do, we want a baby so badly!
