Itchiness after protected sex

Me and bf tried out a new type of condoms which is the Durex with dots. We didn't use lubricant that time. After sex, my vagina became itchy then I began stratching and now my vagina is really itchy, red and a bit sore. I don't have discharge or odor. My vagina is dry. My period is next week. Could it be a pms? I don't know what to do? Can it be like an STI or STD because we had protected sex? Am i allergic to that condom?

Quite possible if it's going away so fast, just avoid those type of condoms next time. If the feeling comes back with a type that you've been ok with- it was probably not enough lubricant with the condom.

The itchiness is going away. I don't feel sore anymore. The skin allergy cream helps. There is no rash to begin with. I guess it's an allergy

What kind of cream did you use? Sorry for asking but I'm in the same situation.

I'm allergic to certain spermicide and/or lubricant in some condoms. That is exactly how I feel after using a bad condom. Unfortunately there's nothing I found to help the feeling, although if there is swelling and a rash on the outer lips I find that diaper rash cream helps sooth it a little.

You can also easily get this feeling by not having enough lubrication. Even if it feels wet enough, sometimes it's not and leads to essentially a rug burn inside the vagina. Not pleasant

In both cases I've found that the symptoms go away after 2-3 days.

However, Kitkat is right, you don't need to have all the symptoms to have a yeast or bacterial infection. If your symptoms just get worse, it's already been a few days, or you start noticing other symptoms see a gyn. As far as STD's go- it usually takes a couple weeks to feel the symptoms and it was protected sex, so I think you're safe there.

You could have had a reaction to the condoms. Maybe they have something different on them than the usual ones. It's also possible you could have some kind of infection - you don't always have to have a visible discharge to have the likes of a yeast infection. Either way, best to get checked in case it needs treated.
