Why am I getting recurrent yeast infections after being raped?

I was raped a little over a year ago and since then I keep getting constant yeast infections. I’ve had at least 5 since then. I’ve never had them before being raped. I have been to the gyno, but it does scare me going there. I also can’t tell them what happened. Is being raped the cause of this? I don’t douche or anything that may cause a yeast infection. I was fine before.

Hello. First let me say I am so sorry to hear about the rape.  Why can you not tell anyone this happened?  Even if you don't press charges, a doctor is meant to help you.  Hiding it and being ashamed just gives the rapist even more power.  So, I encourage you to have a full pelvic and discuss this with your doctor.  they WILL understand and help you.

With that said, no.  I do not believe this has anything to do with the rape.  What have you done to treat the yeast infections?
