Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy

I went the doctor on Tuesday  and he said the fibroid is on my uterus not my ovary and we decided to do the  Laparoscopy and Hysteroscopy to burn fibroid off and burn some of the uterus so it will stop the heavy bleeding. He said it probably won't stop my period all togheter but it may make them a lot lighter if not end them. They will do one small insecison and go thru my cervcix fill my stomach with gas and look around look at the ovaries and uterus to get a better idea on why I am having the problems I having.

Not sure yet when they will take place.

This was the one of 3 choices he gave me, one was birth control , this one and a total hystercomy.

He said if he goes in and it looks bad then he will do what needs to be done but this is the best thing really to find out the problem.

Have any of you had this done?

Its supposed to be same day surgery and they are going to call me when they can do it.

A little nervous , just hate surgery like most do but need to get it over with for peace of mind.

Thanks everyone

I don't have any advice or answers for you(sorry) but I did want to let you know that you are not alone in being worried. My girlfriend is having some problems and it has us both worried. She is going for a pelvic exam and pap smear tomorrow though.Hopefully we will have SOME answers tommorow. If you would like to know what we are going through, look at my posts, under "Intercourse bleeding" from tallguy1978. One today the 25th, and the original posted on the 19th or 20th. I wish you all the best and will say a prayer for you before I go to sleep. Best regards...
