Lichens or herpes??

I have had constant burning & itching with occasional splits for about 6 mths now. All test have come back neg, the only one i can not rule out is type one as i have had cold sores on my mouth before, so the antibodies are already in my system. I have been told it is either herpes type 1 or Lichens Sclerosis. My question is will a biopsy for Lichens be accurate if i have itching & burning but no actual sores?? The doc said he would not do a biopsy until i have sores & splits but i havn't had any for a while. I do however have burning and mild itchyness all the time. I can't wait anymore arrrg!

Thanks for replying. The Doc said you can get type one downstairs, so i'm confused! I actually was told i had herpes by my Doc and thought i had it for a few mths. When the 3 mth serology test came back neg for type 2 thats when he said it may be type 1 as i have all the symptoms. I can deal with having it i just hate not knowing. Do i tell future partners the situation or not?? Thats my main problem i don't want to pass anything on.

herpes 1 does not cause vaginal symptoms unless you have an very weakened immune system due to something else. There are many things that cause these symptoms, but not herpes 1. I have studied this and discussed it extensively with hundreds of doctors.

Please read my posts about vaginal fissures, cuts, and boils on this board going back the last few months. I have a lot of information about the causes for these problems, from dermatological problems, allergies, parasites, infection, disease, chemicals like birth comtrol pills, and other things that are caused  by or cause immune damage which often presents with genital symptoms. A single ingrown hair is nothing to worry about, but if you have on going symptoms please read my posts to understand immune damage and how you can control it and keep your immune system healthy.
