Light pink discharge -- light period (kinda) now

Ok, my main concern is what is wrong with me? My period has been acting weird lately. I started dating my boyfriend over a year ago, and we have pretty much always had unprotected sex. (Yes, I know, it's dumb lol) But I've noticed since we started to, my period has been messed up, it seems like. I have had my period since I was like 12, and now I'm almost 22. This time, I had a very light pink discharge for a while (not sure how long -- had to be about a month or two -- on and off.) but I could only tell when I wiped. Sorry TMI. But then it started turning to a dark brown -- I'm assuming left over blood from before. I just took a HPT on 8/30 and it came out negative.. So I know I'm not pregnant because it would have came up right away, considering my system's been messed up for a little while. Anywho, starting yesterday & today, the discharge is more of a reddish color.. Like an actual period. Just lighter. I don't know if something is really wrong with me, or if it's just acting weird. Has anyone had this same problem? Please let me knowww.. I'm thinking about making a OB/GYN appointment soon. (I've never even had a check up -- which I need to do.) Thanks.

me n my man recently broke up, we always had unprotected sex...it feels better..I know its stupid. well even though we are not together we hooked up bout well over a week ago n it was like the 1st or 2nd of Nov n my period had been coming on the tenth. well this time it came on the 8th/my birthday. it only really lasted like 2 days it use to be four but lately only three days Long. so it came early was really light with a little clotting..its been like three to four days sense the period n I am still getting very pink color when I wipe. no red no brown like PINK!!!! my boobs usually hurt before my period....I felt nothing... my areola's looked puffy one day. I will say the cramps on this period were so painful one day tht I felt like dying.... idk what is with me... I've had sex sense the last fling with my ex but it was protected sex. I just want to know if I might be preggers with my ex's baby...I'm scared

I've had major spotting problems for a few years until I did some research and started using a natural progesterone cream.  Have not have a problem since.  However, that is me.  You really need to make an appointment to rule out other potential causes.  I did do that by the way.  I treated myself only after the doctor inadvertently helped me to figure out it was a hormone imbalance by putting me on the pill for a month.  Long story still, but that is how I ended up the way I did because I did not want to be on the pill long term, so that wasn't an option for me.  Get your check up please.  Start there. Process of elimination.

I think I've had similar experiences but am not sure why myself.  I am prone to frequent infection though and in the past have attributed the discharge to an infection which cleared up when treated. I would see a doc though, really. I need to do the same (it's been a while) and if you can find one you trust and feel comfortable with it's definitely worth it. Good luck :)
