Little itchy down there?

I have had cold sores for most of my life, and have become less frequent even if I run a fever or am stressed out. I had one earlier last week and it went away, all that was left was dried skin on my lip and no tingling or itching like a normal cold sore. I had sex with an old hookup later that week which included oral and vaginal. The next day I didn't feel any itchiness or anything out of the ordinary, plus I had shaved the day I had sex (both for the first time in months).

Also I just started a vacation in Nevada desert, so it's high in elevation and really dry. I checked myself the best I could for symptoms and signs of herpes, but I haven't found anything indicative of it, just itchiness, which I have chalked up to having just shaved and it being so dry here. So, I wanted to just get an OBGYN opinion from here before I go to medical since I probably won't be able to be seen until I get back home.

If anyone has any medical advice or input, please let me know. :)
