Looking for anyone with this experience...

I think I posted this in the wrong area the first time - here it is again!

I'm new to this site, and it sure has a wealth of information! Unfortunately, the posts I've read about my situation have me more confused than ever. I just want answers!

The hubby and I just started out on our quest to conceive. I'm usually pretty regular on my cycle - it may vary by a day or even two, but that's about it. I've never skipped a period.

So, imagine my cautious excitement when my AF was one, then two, finally 3 days late. I have taken several HPT's, all with negative results. The most recent was this morning, and I am about 8 days late as of today.

I called the doc and she will see me in a week if AF still is a no show. At that time we'll do a blood test, and if negative, she'll give me something to get AF back on schedule.

My question: Has anyone on this site actually experienced a false negative HPT at a week or more late? I've heard several second hand stories, but I'm dying to hear from somebody who got a negative on the HPT but then really was pregnant!

Also, should I be continuing with the baby efforts while we are waiting? I have my ovulation probability mapped out, but that is all contingent on my AF.... what if she no shows? Might I still ovulate at this point?

Thanks for your help! We are so ready to have a baby - the wait is excruciating!

You guys are giving me hope... but it's scary because every time I take a test, the negative response breaks my heart.  I know to expect it, yet my disappointment is so poignant that I know I still hoped desperately for the positive.

As for the implantation bleeding - I haven't noticed any of that, so I'm afraid that isn't a good sign for me.

I'll keep everyone posted!  Even if this isn't my time, I'm going to keep trying until it is!

Baby dust for you, baby dust for me!!!  (Unless, of course, you aren't in the market for baby dust!!)

Please keep us posted when you find something out!  I'm very interested to hear your response.  My dh and I are currently TTC and we get nervous every month.  Well at least I do.  It's definitely different for men and women.  So many emotions, so much excitement!

I'm do for a cycle on the 20th and want so badly for it not to come.  In fact I spotted a drop of pink already and hope that this is a good sign of a bun in the oven.  Lately I've been reading that have implantation bleeding is a myth.  Is this true?  Can someone shine insight on their experience with this.  Like how much and how long it normally last?

Thanks for everyone's help!

You might have ovulated late, and simply not have built up enough HCG in your system to show a positive.  Your doctor is completely right.  Wait a week, test again.  Then you'll have an answer you can trust.

That is so reassuring to hear - I hope that my results turn positive as well!  Maybe I'll try the Confirm Clearly test next weekend if AF stays away!  Thank you for the uplifting reply!

As for getting results tomorrow, best of luck to you!  It must be a LONG night for you to get through.  I am also to a point where I am assuming that I am not pregnant... yet I can't let go of that tiny nagging hope that I might be!

Thanks to both of you for replying quickly.  It is so nice to know I'm not going through this alone!

I am also in the same situation currently.  Had two negatives, and i am two weeks late! I assume i am not pregnant, however all symptoms are there. I went to my doctor and will find the results in the morning. I'll let you know then if they were false negatives or not :)
