Lyme Disease and Herpies

I was reading about Lyme disease and how it attacks the immune system ect...Also, read breifly an article on Lyme disease and Syphilis. Just curiuos. Since Lyme Disease attacks the immune system and can attack nerve endings the way Shingles would. Could it be possible that an individual with long-term undiagnosed Lyme Disease could have the symptoms of and a false possitive for the sexually transmitted strands of Herpies type 1 or 2? I don't think it's possible but could the virus of simple Herpies many people get on their mouths be transferred to themselves to the vagina, penis or rectum while using the rest room without hand washing first? If so, with Lyme disease also a factor could the Lyme Disease manifest the simple Herpies to a full blown case of type 1 or 2? Lastly, if this is possible could successful treatment of the Lyme Disease cure the Herpies symptoms. If I need to ask this question in another section of the site for better response please someone let me know! Thanks.

I am not sure I mean I was tested a few days ago and my dr told me that I have lyme! He said my test came back possitive. And he was sending it out again to be retested. I have had really bad symptoms for a while but all the symptoms I have been having are also common with autoimmune problems as well it has been really hard to figure it all out! I am hoping for a false possitive because i really don't want Lyme! but I do wish we could figure out what is going on! Whatever it is it has been affecting me for about 2 years now! This has been a long 2 years specially because in the last two years I had a baby and my husband has been in Iraq for 11 months of it so far (he is still there i should see him next month for a couple weeks then he will go back for another 6 months) I am very stressed and really worried I really don't know what to say about false possitives except that I really hope that is what mine was!!!

I am not sure since I have only ever known 1 person with lyme disease but from their experience chances are you will not have long term undiagnosed lyme disease, her symptoms were not something that could be overlooked or ignored long term. Then again, anything is possible. There are just too many ifs in your question though. The best bet is to always ask your doctor. If you are having problems then don't be afraid to ask. Nothing you say could ever be too far out there.
