Moderate Dysplasia Which Way to Go?

I have HPV.. I had Colpo done.  Im trying not to freak out..
One biopsy was fine the other moderate dysplasia.   The dr called today... My options are
to have it lasered.. or a wide local excision(sp?)(this would require a stitch) This will be done in an OR... Just wanted to know if anyone had either done and your experience thru it? Im sure both hurts.  Thank you.

I was diagnosed with moderate cervical dysplasia and just recently got over a surgery I had for invasive endometriosis.  I also have PCOS and am 28 years old.

I am considering a hysterectomy...any thoughts?

I am really scared.

Thank you both for you thoughts and comments and I appreciate them...

Ive decided to do the surgical route (which i believe is the LEEP)

I think they will be able to get it and read the tissue etc.. Unlike the laser which may cause scarring in the cervix..

Now to hurry up and wait for a pre op...

I hope my nerves will last

hi... i like you have hpv and was told after a colpo that i had high grade pre-cancerous cells...i had a conization (leep procedure and that was not so bad.)
i think the options you were given by your doctor are good ones. i was explained by my gyn what most procedures were,, and i was given the one i got because my cells were high in the cervix....
most on the time all his gone after procedure... but i know how you feel.

A friend of mine had the laser done. She was crampy for a couple days, but has had normal paps each year since. Best wishes.
