Monthly period issues!

I've been having a few issues with my month period and it has me very worried. I don't have a period at all for three months then on the fourth month I have one and it has been almost 3 weeks now that I have been in it and it is a none stop heavy flow all day and night. I'm worried that I'm losing to much blood . what can cause it to disappear for months and last so long when it comes back. Any advice?
