Old wives tale?

Is it true that if men wear breifs then it can be to warm for their little swimmers?  My DH doesn't like to wear boxers other then for sleeping, is this something I should be concerned about while ttc?

When we first started trying, my husband wore snug tighty whities LOL and nothing was happening. Doc suggested he switch to loose fitting briefs or boxers since the heat can kill the little guys. So he made the change and VOILA, one month later I was expecting. This is only my experience, but I say whatever it takes, and if there is a tiny chance it may make a difference, try it.
Good luck in TTC!!

We haven't had his swimmers checked out yet.  We have only just started ttc within the last three months and only seriously ttc this month.  If we don't get PG soon I'm sure we will try the boxers just as a precaution.

Thanks for the opinions.

It's not that if you're trying to conceive switch to boxers, it's really if your partner has a low sperm count, switching to boxers can help keep the swimmers he has healthy and not get too hot which would kill them.

Hi

Just wanted to say good luck ttc. I wouldn't worry to much about the breif situation, you have only being trying for 3 months and it can take two healthy people up to 2 yrs to concieve. I hope it is sooner rather than later for you though.
Not sure if you were on birth control before hand, but that may effect the time scale in which you could concieve.
Anyway, all the best!

Actually that has been somewhat debunked in a few recent studies. I bought into it for a while and asked my dh to wtich to boxer briefs. He hated those dang things. But he went back to regular briefs and we still managed ot get pg a few times.

Do some reading and research, you will most likely come across the studies. Do a search for fertility myths or something of the like and you should find it.

No I have read that somewhere online. Sorry I don't remember where I have done so many searches on ttc that I don't know where I read stuff. But I did read that boxers are better for the little swimmers! Baby Dust to you!
