One day flow?

I have always had irregular periods, so I went to the gyno last month and got birth control to help make them more normal.  She told me to wait until I got my period again, then start the pills that Sunday.

Well, this past Saturday I started my period with a pretty heavy flow all at once, then used one tampon about an hour later (I was at the movies, ugh!).  I took the tampon out before I went to bed and it had some blood on it, but not much.  The next morning I woke up and... nothing.  I haven't bled at all since then.  I went ahead and started the birth control pills because I thought my period was just being weird and would come back, but could the pills be what made my period go away?  I haven't ever only had one short heavy flow like that and then nothing.

I'm just curious if anyone else has had this happen...

BCP can make your cycle much shorter, but typically that is only after you have been on them for awhile.  I would assume that your body is just trying to get used to the additional hormones...wait it out a couple of more cycles, don't miss any pills, and then check with your doc if you're still concerned.

It might be a good idea to check to see if your pregnant.  Could
you be?  If so, you might think about taking a HPT or get a blood test done to find out if your pregnant.  Taking birth
control pills while you're pregnant puts your unborn baby at risk.

My boyfriend and I only had sex once since my last period - and since we have had a scare once before, we're always extremely careful - the condom didn't break or anything, so I seriously doubt I could be pregnant.  I was also already almost 2 months late on my period when we had sex for the first time since I had gotten my period before.  I guess I will check it out and hope it's negative...  Thanks.

Update:  I took a HPT and it came up negative so guess it was just something weird!  I'm just gonna stay on the BCP and hope it eventually evens my periods out.

Thanks for your help!
