PID four times. Why does this keep happening to me?

I am 27 years old female. I first had PID when I was 22 because of chlamydia. Now since then I have had it four times because of bacterial vaginosis. Why does this keep happening to me. My obgyn treats the flare up but doesn't give me answers as to how to stop this from happening over and over again. I am concerned that this is going to do damage to my reproductive organs if it keeps happening. What do I do?

I had Acute PID and had to have surgery to remove excessive scar tissue developed around my uterus and came out one of my Fallopian tube is closed. My gynecologist always suggested me to have my husband get checked out. Make sure your partner use condom. I don't have anymore problem anymore. I have been taking prenatal multi vitamin and I guess that also helped.
