Pain above left breast, left armpit and shoulder

Hi. Since April I have had pain above my left breast. It's not constantly there, but it comes and goes. Sometimes it feels like a burning pain, other times it feels like a cramp. I've also felt it in my armpit at times and it will also creep up over my shoulder. Although I VERY RARELY feel it on the right side, it DOES happen once in awhile. But for the most part it's been my left side. I've had all the heart tests, including stress echo, I've had an MRI of my brain and neck, I've had a breast exam. I've even seen a chiropractor. Every test they've done comes back normal. And nothing seems to help. I've tried aspri - doesn't work. I try massaging my breast and shoulders and that seems to help a tiny bit. Usually the pain is very dull...but one night I woke up in excruciating pain for about 10 seconds, then it went back to being dull. I'm 24, and I am being treated for Anxiety/Panic Disorder. My Psychiatrist does not think it's related. Does ANYONE have ANY ideas about what could be going on with me?!?!?!

I hope you're right! I'm experiencing the same symptoms (pain on left side of chest, sharp on left side under armpit, irregular breathing as if someone's sitting on my chest, painful lower back sensations, pain in my left arm as if I just received a shot, a knot in my mid chest). All of this occurred after I experienced a panic attack. Went to the ER twice and received a EKG, blood test, urine sample, and chest xray and everything came back perfect. I just want this to go away....and don't know what to do. I'm afraid it's something worse.

You are not alone. I am 29 and this started happening with me a year ago after I had my first panic attack.  This is how it started...I went through a bad break up 5 years ago and started being depressed and having bad thoughts.  The dr asked me a lot of questions and ended up diagnosing me with Generalized Anxiety disorder.  I took the Celexa that was prescribed to me and once I started to feel better, stopped.  No problems until a year ago while at work my left leg twitched very hard and I immediately thought I was having a stroke. Once the panic set in, my thoughts changed from me having a stroke to a heart attack, as I could not catch my breath and my heart was beating out of my chest.  Needless to say, those thoughts landed my in the ER where every test was given only for the nurse to bring me a Xanax and refer me to my pcp.  My pcp wanted me to start taking meds again, only problem was I was now scared of them because a major side affect was "heart attack". Over the past year I have been to the ER about 6 times, seen a cardiologist, and had therapy.  As I am typing this the top of my left breast hurts, my left arm and my ribs all feel as if I pulled a muscle.  I was just fine about an hour ago but because I ate a new food, I had thoughts that I was going to have an alergic reaction.  I truly believe that this is the way some of our bodies respond to stress. Your anxiety is probably high and you just need to calm yourself. The key to getting over this is to replace your negative thoughts with positive thoughts...easier said than done.
