Period after IUD

I removed my IUD on January 31,2013 and  Feb,March,April my period came on time,very heavy period,I had the IUD for 4 year and it was due to come out March of 2014,now we are in  May and my period is late,it was due on May 9,2013..ye.me be concerned I took test it was negative...I know it too soon to be take the test..but is it common for you not have for several months after the iud and you not be pregnant?

It is really difficult to say what is or isnt a normal period or even properly saying im.late when.have taking birth control everyone is so different and their bodies react differently the likely hood of.getting pregnamt even in.the first year of removing it is.slim.to none BUT there is always that one.percent. i have yet to find two women wit the same story or havinh the same experience wit their periods usimg birth control
everyone im sorry im not.much help but i do alot plays a factor in ur periods.. birth control. Ovulation. Stress. PREGNANCY lol or like me i have a blood disorder called itp where my spleen makes an.antibody attacking my blood platelets 30% of women.have it and dont know it they just think.they are anemic so.my periods arr usually really heavy and can last a month a week oe not evem have one. If ir not.on.amy.birth control im.sure its.normal

What IUD is it?  I have the Mirena and rarely have periods.
