Period for 5 weeks on & off after Plan B. Weird smell.

I took Plan B less than 12 hours after my boyfriend and I thought the condom broke.  I took Plan B on November 7.  On November 14 I got my period two weeks early.  My period lasted for its normal length of about a week.  Toward the end the blood was light, a brown/grayish color and smelt funny..worse than fish smell. This light spotting/bleeding with the smell continued for three weeks on and off.  On December 7 I got my period again.  This lasted for about a week.  It is now almost 6 weeks since I have taken Plan B and I am still bleeding a little.

The bleeding I am experiencing now is light, brown colored and smells funny.  I do not bleed at night, just during the day.  I do not have to change my tampon often.

I know Plan B can effect your cycle, but I have taken it before and my period came on normal time and i had no problems.  I am worried because I have been bleeding for so long & the smell is unlike anything Ive experienced before.

Any ideas?

It smells kind of sour/rotten/worse then fishy. Almost like sushi.

It's possible to bleed while pregnant. It just isn't a period, but rather vaginal bleeding. While it's unlikely, it can happen. You say it has a funny smell. Can you describe it at all? It also sounds similar to an infection, but I can't think of any that would cause bleeding like you described as well.

I think being pregnant is a little out of the question considering I've been bleeding for 6 weeks? But thank you. And I do not have insurance right now so I am hoping to see if it may just be a side effect of the Plan B before going to the Dr.

Also I have had ovarian cysts before. So I was thinking my cycle may be irregular if I developed a cyst and it may be the type of cyst that bleeds?

Any other help would be wonderful :) thank you!

my best advice is if you think you may be pregnant, you would be far enough into it to show a positive if you are. if not i suggest taking a trip to the doctor and expressing all concerns you have. dont be afraid to ask questions and really understand everything about plan B including cycle delays and side effects. best of luck to you!
