Body Pains and Foul odor after sex on period , please help?!!

About 2 weeks ago I was on the ending days of my period and I had unprotected sex while still bleeding, we did it a few times but when my period finally went away I noticed a fishy odor but I thought it was normal since I probably still had trace of blood in me but ever since then the odor has not went away it either got worse or I'm just more conscious of it, to me it's a fishy odor and sometimes a rotten meat smell and it's very embarrassing I don't even want to have sex anymore because that's when it smells worse. I also have a really bad pain in my stomach every morning like there is a rock but slowly goes away after I go to the bathroom, my hips hurt often and I have a pain in pelvic area where I think my ovaries would be, I'm not sure if that's right but that's the only way I can explain it. I don't wear tampons so it can't be that there is one forgotten in there and I took a pregnancy test, it came back negative so I've weighed out those 2 options. I just really want to know if there is anything I can do before I go to a doctor. What should I do?

Hi.  Well, this is a weird question but I have to ask since you mention your period.  Any chance you forgot a tampon in there?  Had sex with it and it got pushed up?  This is easy to do and will cause severe odor and discomfort.  If not, then I'd guess bacterial infection and I would go ahead and make that doctor's appointment.  Antibiotics are needed to eliminate bacterial vaginosis.  And that is a tricky infection and doesn't go away some times the first try.  Basically the pathogens involved love an anaerobic environment (no air, hot moist).  So, try to air yourself out by sleeping with out undies, wear cotton undies, change when you work out or sweat a lot, etc.  But really, I think you need to see a doctor as a foul smell is a hallmark sign of vaginal infection. good luck
