Period won't stop

I started my period last week. It went on for the normal 5 days, stopped for a day . Now it's back again I have had it for almost 3 weeks now. I am very tired . Has it got something to do with the blood loss.

I started my period about a week ago and I am still bleeding. should I be worried that something is wrong, or is this just something that can all of a sudden happen. I have never had this happen before. We went on vacation to Florida. Could that mess with my period? I didn't know if the salt water could affect it or not.

Not sure I understand this comment "the doc says that since i'm still virgin i cannotgo for immplants or other methods which i do aggree with." Virgins can use hormonal medications (contraceptives) to control their cycles. They are just not being used for birth control but instead "off label" for heavy bleeding.

i am 20 and i'm in the same situation it started in april and the doc put me on tetraxamic acic which is an anti hemorrhagic drug and i started contraceptive pills which actually stopped it for a whole cycle and it came back on due date... but the whole of the second contraceptive pill box i've been bleeding and i've seen 2 guynaes who say that my ovaries and  uterus are absolutely normal.. which i too agree since i'm a medical student. more than the bleeding its the depressive stareb that it puts you in thats killing me! and the doc says that since i'm still virgin i cannotgo for immplants or other methods which i do aggree with. i'm just tired of it all and i've been reading so much and looking for answers in my medical books but nothing explains this sh**t.

Hi windsong! Thank you so much for your advice, I did somehow took some iron supplements but i had problem going to the bathroom, and i felt pain in my stomach so I stop taking iron supplements! Yeah I am always tired and lazy like i do not want to do anything, so now i was thinking i am going to gym to work out, maybe it will happen.

but something i notice is that I fast during this month, and my heavy blood stop, i have light very light once and somedays not much, so i think fasting might help and when you break your fast on sunset, you should eat oatmeal and very light food it will help! so far i have been fasting for 15days i have 15more days to go! if it is still working i went to keep trying it!  Once again thanks so much for your advice and i am glad to be on this website with so many experincing my problems as well!!!
