enlarged uterus

Recently I went to my gyno for a pap smear, havent been for a long time, due to no medical insurance.I was diagnosed as having n enlarged uterus.I wanted to cry,as I automatically think of the worse.I am scheduled on monday apr 21 for a vaginal ultrasound to determine what the possible cause may be,I am quite terrified about the results,as everyone knows is the hardest part. I asked my doc of possible issues that may have cause this condition n he said uterine fibroids, adenomyosis, endometrial thickening,as I told him I do have endometriosis,n last but not least cancer. My tquestion is I just recently had a biopsy on my breast, which came out to be fibrocystic changes, also my periods have been weird in which I was always been regular,so in telling the doc that, he took a blood test to see if I may be going through premenopause,n now n enlarged uterus, could this be all tied together perhaps?I am so confused,n so irritated of all this happening all at once! Does anyone know if they maybe all connected?

Hi,
You were right,a huge subserosal uterine fibroid on the left side,n small cyst on the right ovary, cant see the left ovary due to big fibroid. The answer-the usual hysterectomy! I was devastated, because I never thought I wouldve had this nor this big as I did not have to unusual symtoms.Well, I do n now n went online to see if I could find any natural supplement to shrink it.I was told b my doc if I decide to have surgery I should think about a shot to help make it smaller, however looking online n reading the comments of taking this shot made me think twice because of the awful side effects,n now I am scared. So I went searching online n found vitalzymes n dimpro,it worth the try n so im excited n will keep posting about my jainormous(laughing)fibroid.

Thanks again.yuki1227

Well, the good news is, at least you have insurance now and can get it checked out.  That's better than needing it checked and not having insurance, by a long way.  :)

Hi,
Thanks for the info.So far everyone that I have talked to about this has said like you,it is probably a big fibroid, although only the test can confirm that. Its just that after I got my insurance n have been going to see the docs, everything seems to be "crashing"in my world! Yet I know how important it is to get it chkd out.I am a little scared, but hopefully the results will be good. Annie, thank you for your kind regards again.

Probably only the ultrasound will tell you if it's all connected.  One thing, an enlarged uterus is not a sign of perimenopause ... usually the uterus begins to thin out if you are going through perimenopause.  If I had to guess, I'd guess a fibroid.
