Vag discharge happens daily, when you sweat, the sweat mixed with discharge makes it 10 times worse. By the end of the day its unplesant. So stay clean, and stay happy!

Ok two years ago i started having sex. then i started birth control. Soon after that i started to have a white discharge it doesn't really smell but it is just very aggravating. I wonder if maybe the birth control caused it but i don't want to stop the birth control untill I have some evidence that it may actually be the cause of the problem. Any suggestions??

Hope this helps, Katie!

After much concern, research, consultation and readingc I have finally reached the conclusion that my odour concerns are healthwise unfounded, and are simply natural and nothing to be concerned about. My new doctor has said she has many overyly sensitive females in the peri-menopausal ages, as well as older and younger, who seem to be worried about the naturally musky sexual and body smells that abound. Of course, having infections and other pathologies are genuine concerns, and must be diagnosed by an MD, but we all have some degree of sebum, smegma, pheromones, and other vaginal / vulvar scents, which have a sexual purpose and indicate no harm to us. This is according to my very capable gynaecologist. I have been deluded into believing we should be asceptic - having a neutral odour or none at all. My husband has been helpful in this research, and I hope you all will remain vigilant in pursuit of good health. Thanks ever much! Ali

I'm only fourteen, so I am really self-conscious about this. But i have had really dry itching on the pantie-line area. Right where the public area stops on the sides. My period hasn't been anything unusual. But this has been going on for about a month now. I also have a foul odor and some discharge. It is manageable, but it is not comfortable, ever. If you can reply with any help,  Thanks(:

I just happened to come across this information. My man says i have alot more discharge than he has seen in other women, but i have had it since i could remeber, i was just wondering if there is every too much discharge for a female and if so could it ever be a bad thing. I know alot of you have said alot os discharge is normal. Also i was wondering wether alot of discharge could cause problems with trying to have child or becoming fertile.

i am not sure how old you are but there was a point where i had a lot of discharge in my teens and 20's. it was in my underwear and so on. it didnt smell bad though. now i am in my 30's and the discharge has subsided.
if it smells very fishy, then that scent usually indicates a bacterial infection/bacterial vaginosis. you should go to a dr. other than that, any discharge is normal. its our bodies way of cleansing itself. its just if it has a strong odor, and/or has an odd color (like yellow or greenish) then that may be of concern. also if you are ovulating it may be sticky, stringy, and a bit more discharge than ususal. the only thing that sounds like it may be out of the ordinary is how you say it smells. we all do have some sort of odor/smell, but to what extent are you talking about?

Yah I am sort of freaking out about this, I have a lumb in my vagina and it is a decent size and it can move around, and I'm wondering if anyone can give me a clue what it is, I am not very old so I really have no clue what it is, I have never had sex.  Please help, thanyou.

Jstarr:  I don't know what you are describing, but if I had a lump inside me that was moving around I would go to the DR ASAP.  Of course, I can be a bit paranoid, but it sounds unusual to me.

Ateague: Good to hear from you again!  How are things going?

Also with the playing with yourself, make sure you are cleaning your hands before with an antibacterial soap.

Also, what you eat affects your smell.  If you eat more fruits and vegetables, your smell will be less acidic.  The more preservatives and processed foods you eat, they stronger the smell.  It sounds like normal discharge, you will have lots of fluid especially when you masturbate.  That's your body's natural lubricant for sex.  You will have more fluids when you ovulate in your cycle.  If it bothers you, wear a panty-liner.  Unless the odor smells fishy and you have discolored or clumpy discharge, I wouldn't worry about it.

What you are describing sounds like normal discharge and EVERYBODY has a certain smell.  As long as discharge doesn't smell fishy or really foul you are probably ok.  If you are worried, however, and if you have any itching or irritation definitely go see your doctor.

Go to the DR and get tested for a bacterial infection.  I don't know if what you experience is normal or not, but you should see a DR just to make sure.
