SOMEBODY HELP PLEASE!!!!!

I have had this vaginal itch for going on 9 years now. It started as one tiny spot on the top "rim" of the vulva. Then it began to spread. Every so slowly. Now it has envolved the whole vaginal area. I have been to so many doctors I can't keep track. I have had two biopses done. One extemely painful. Nothing. No STDs. No yeast infections. One male doctor totally humiliated me (left me in the "position" on the table with the bottom half facing an open door to the hallway ! Then proceeded to parade a line of students in against my request. (I was told to simply close my eyes if it bothered me. They needed to learn.) So needless to say that was the last time I will see a male doctor about this issue. I was told, "well...maybe it's due to aging. You know, thinning walls and all." Oh bull. It itches like a cross between chicken pox and poison ivy. Almost constant. It seems to have an "acquired pellicle" value to it. It has left "pock-like" pits, with numerous dark flecks. There are a couple of very small areas that resemble pimples. The skin has thickened and it blotchy. Very red and irritated because even though I know it will cause the skin to rip and shread, I CAN'T HELP BUT SCRATCH. I have tried to scratch not using nails, but there is no relief. When the itching gets unbearable, I tried to wash real good. Alot of times, the skin simply "absorbs" the soap before I can rinse it off. I have tried creams. No help. It used to get worse with consumption of sugar. (but if my sugar gets too low, I get a killer migraine). And used to if I drank more water it would help slightly. Now neither of these things help. I have even been woke up from unbearable itch. And no doctor has been able to help. I know there is something very serious wrong...but I can't seem to get anyone to take it seriously.

I have had the same exact symptoms for @ least 4 years. No answer, best I can figure is that it must be hormonal. I have been menopausal (or pre-men) for maybe 2 years.  It is reassuring to know I'm not alone. My Dr.s have been no help either. if you get any answers please post. God luck.

Since itching is the main problem for now, have you asked any doctors about anti-itch cream?  They come in various forms, some requiring a prescription. The scratching also undoubtedly causes local infection, which of course might also itch.  For that, you might try a topical antibiotic cream like Neosporin. The cream will also moisten the skin, and dry skin tends to itch also.  As for the cause, it could be anything from a virus to some sort of dermatitis. The main thing for now is to get the itching under control. But I doubt you need much convincing of that. Good luck.
