Stuck tampon for over a year

I went to the genocologist today because i had a lot of vaginal discharge.  The doctor found out the reason for the discharge was because i had a tampon and the plastic applicator stuck in my vagina.  Do I have toxic shock syndrome, am i going to be able to have kids, and be sexually active?  Please help!

Sorry I didn't pay close enough attention before I posted. If it was stuck for over a year defiantly go to a gynecologist and get checked. It could have messed something up.

It does raise your risk for infections but your doctor should have given you antibiotics if you did. If you have any pain or any more problems when you start your period then go to a gynecologist tell them what happened and get everything checked.

You have more nerve than I..lol. I would never let people know that I did that. However, didn't the doctor discuss all those questions with you when he/she removed the tampon? Did they put you on an antibiotic? You probably would already have suffered from TSS if you were going to. Maybe you just began using them, I don't know, but for hygiene sake be more careful please :)
Blessings~
