Teenage Curiosity?

i'm not really sure what subtopic to put this in...just a simple question though:

i'm 15, when is the best time to have my first visit to the gyno?

i'm going to be a soph. this year and i've had my period since...before 7th grade.

i'm just curious mainly.

My dr told me you should see a gyno when you become sexually active or at the age of 20, whichever comes first, unless you have some kind of family health concerns, which would mean the sooner the better.

If you are not sexually active then I would say you can wait untill you are between 16-18.  If you become sexually active before 18 years old then you should go up.  If you have any type of reproductive cancer or problems in your family then I would ask your Dr. if you should be seen sooner.

And I want to say that I'm really proud of the decisson you have made not to become sexually active!  That shows that you are strong and not doing it just because everybody else is.  You have made a decission I'm sure many many others wish they would have made!  You are very responsible!

the sooner the better just because you arent sexually active doesnt mean you cant get cancer down there.

either when you are 18, or if/when you become sexually acitve. so if you are now, i would start to see a gyno. :-)
