Thick Brown Discharge for a LONG time...

I had a regular period before I got a birth control shot for the first time. When it came time for me to have my period again, once i had taken the shot, I got this brown discharge for a couple of days which I just figured was my period, because I had cramps, period symptoms, etc. and thought it was just abnormal because of the shot. well i had a heavy period for a couple of days after a couple of days of the discharge. I usually have my period for about seven days. instead of everything going away once the blood went away, i got thick brown discharge, that was kind of like being on the last few days of your period, except brown discharge instead of blood. the brown discharge has been around for almost 2 weeks...one day it was almost gone and i thought it was over and then the next day i wake up and its even worse than before. the day after that (which is today), i see dried dark blood in it again. I'm worried and I don't know what's going on. I'm 16 and confused. I started all of this on september 11 and now its septemeber 28. I've basically been on period for half a month, except for with only a little blood! please help if you can! Is it because of the shot?

For dark vaginal blood-Drink plenty of water and call your doctor. It sounds like what is called oldblood. Sometimes it is imbalance in the system, or bruising, or fibroids. Some women bleed like that when they eat too many sweets or caffein.
