Thigh Cramps?

For the past couple of months I have noticed that I have gotten painful thigh cramps when I'm on my period. It feels as if my muscles are twisting, and I do not know if this is normal because I haven't heard of anyone else having them in their thighs. Could anyone tell me is this is normal or what I could do to help this stop? Thank you.

Heating pads are really good for cramps but I can't tell you if it's normal I guarantee you it most likely is because every now and then I get cramps when I'm not in my period but definitely try a heating pad or a hot source like when your on your laptop put it where your cramps are and as it heats up it will help decrease the pain the cramps are causing
