UTI after rectocele surgery?

Hello everyone!  I am a 63 year old woman and had rectocele surgery 2 1/2 weeks ago.  I have now developed a UTI.  I had the surgery done because of recurring UTI's.  I don't understand why I got this now.  Does anyone have any insights as to why this has occurred:  I feel very discouraged.

Did you have a catheter at any point during the surgery, or after? If you did, that can cause a UTI.

Did the surgeon who performed the surgery diagnose you with the UTI? Make sure that he/or she knows about the infection. You'll want to make sure it's not a complication of the surgery.

Let us know how you're doing, and feel better soon!

Thanks for responding to my question.  Contacted the surgeon and they did the test and confirmed it was definitely a UTI.  Got medicine and all taken care of.  Thank for the advice.
I hope you don't get anymore, and that this was just from the procedure itself.

I'm glad you're feeling better now!
