Under the skin pea size bump on the perineum

A few days ago I noticed a colorless pea sized under the skin flat bump on my perineum.  It does not hurt and the only reason I noticed it was just by wiping after going to the bathroom.  I do shave in that area, but it doesn't look like it has a "whitehead" like a pimple....I have no idea what it is and it is really worrying me.  Can someone please give me a suggestion as to what it may be?  Thank you very much.

I also get little bumps scattered in perineum, occasionally also get what looks like little ulcers with slight redness around and are tender. I've been tested for yeast, herpes, and chlamydia but so far all negative. Any other suggestions?

I am a student midwife and from what I have been reading this is my advice. Sometime in the vagina Bartholin's glands can get blocked which causes these cysts (or lumps) in the perineum.
Don't pop them they will just go away over time. However, If they don't they can be catheterized to let the fluid out.

I think it would be best to see a doctor if they are infected.

I had this-- it turned out to be a skin tag. I had to have it removed and tested.  They usually are not malignant.  Ask your ob-gyn to look at it. It needs to be checked.

it could very well be (and i never spell this correctly) but a bartholins? cyst. check it out online. nothing to be concerned about. i have had them periodically and a hot cloth will help draw it out.

Also see a Dermatologist. I did. He absically only told me that it was from glands and ingrown hairs. Gave me some clear stuff to put on it and that was that. Said lots of people get them even in the armpit. The warm compress is usually the best bet, but IF it feels more solid and mishapen then you need to get it checked. The round smooth bumps and lumps are usually no biggie. And just because it doesn't have a head on it now doesn't mean it won't. The hot compress may help to draw it to the surface and form a head. Try not to worry to much and get it checked if it persists.

very easily. Your bump could be filled with blood though. Its white if you dont irritate it. Take a warm cloth and press when you get a chance.
It happens every so often. You should go to your gyno to get rid of it.

Jenni6485 - Thanks for the quick response.  It doesn't really feel like it can be popped...it is more smooth and it seems to feel like it goes pretty deep.  This is a gross question...but was your bump hard to pop or did it pop fairly eaisly?

Ingrown hair? Not all of them hurt. I shave also, and I noticed this huge bump when I wiped. I was like "what the heck!!" It wasnt on my perineum, but on the lower side where my underwear is... so I poped it. That sucker had so much pressure and I felt it jet out. I looked in the toilot and it was this huge ball of white stuff with a hair raveled in it. lol, grose. It was the strangest thing. It took a while for it to heal. but everything ended up okay.
I'm not saying to reach down and pop it or anything, that would be weird, and it would hurt... but try going to the doctor. Dont be emberissed, they see all sorts of vaginal occurances every day. :-)
