Vaginal Tearing

My boyfriend and I had intercourse last Wednesday (its now Monday)While we were having sex I noticed that he was having trouble entering inside of me but soon enough everything was fine. We had sex with no problem. Even later that night I was fine. But then I realized that I had vaginal tearing. It is extremely painful. When I urinate it burns ( I mean it is a cut on my vagina) I know this has to happen to other women, so what do you do to bare with the pain? How long does it take to go away?

So on Wednesday my boyfriend had come over and we were fooling around and he fingered me. The next day when I went to the bathroom I had seen blood on my underwear and I didn't know why it was there. I knew it wasn't my period so I got a mirror and looked at it. There was a tear on both of the labias and they are not small cuts. One side is almost as big as the labia and I can see the skin is torn and still hanging there. It doesn't look deep and it has been lightly bleeding for a few days now. When I first saw it I freaked out because it wasn't small and I had no idea what it was. I went online to see what it was and see how to treat it. I don't want to get stitches though but I do want it to heal fast because of the pain. It hurts to sit on hard surfaces or when I walk and it burns when I pee. I just want to know what to do to help the pain and to make it heal faster so I can not worry about this so much

Oh and tips and tricks for weeing: spray the shower at your vagina when you are weeing, or sit in a shallow bath or water. Pour water over your vaginally while sat on the toilet or lean as far forward as you can so that the urine runs the other way. I have been known to put my hands on the floor I have bent over so far to prevent pain.

Oh you can also use an aqueous cream or sudo creme to sooth it. Dr cam prescribe anaesthetic creams too

I have had this a few times. The trick is knowing when to see a Dr. If it bleeds like a period go. If it doesn't heal in a week, go see a Dr. If there is a flap from the tear go Dr. If it starts to ooze anything that isn't blood, go Dr. If it is in the actual vaginal passage not just labia go Dr.  If you are really worried always better to be safe than sorry. It will be sore and uncomfortable for first few days. Best to keep checking in a mirror for progress.

Lubricate!!! There are several ways to get wet & prevent vaginal tears.
1) Have long, slow, sexy foreplay that gets you very hot & wet.
2) Have him make you climax first with mouth or hand. Believe me - most of us girls get very wet on the way to an orgasm!
3) Use a good lubricant. Pjur is pricey but never gets sticky & can be used on the inside or outside of the body. Use it on yourself all around your opening and inside. Slather his penis with it. Smooth sliding prevents tears & pain.
4) Have him enter you an inch at a time at first. Start with slow, shallow strokes then deeper over time. He should NEVER ram into you right away. If he insists he is selfish & should be fired as a lover.

I had sex about 5 days ago, and i have tears everywhere, on the lips, around them, in deeper. I am in excruciating pain! How long will this take to heal?? I used the mirror trick to get a better view of it, and it almost looks infected, What should i do?? The pain is getting unbearable and i need to find something, ANYTHING to ease it.

this happened to me today as well, hence why i'm on this page.
it hurt a little when he was deep inside me but i thought it was just his public hair scratching.
i only realised i had a tear when i went to the bathroom to clean up and there was blood.
there was a lot of lubricant so it couldn't have happened because i was dry.
**Do you think it's possible that it happened because he was too big for me when he went really deep???**
**I don't really know how to bring this up with him so it doesn't happen again because i don't want to make him feel guilty. Any suggestions?**

I have the same problem. It seems that it has to do with dryness, but we have used lube and it still happens & then the lube makes the cut burn more. I feel like the skin just below my vagina is very thin, so I'm not sure what will help. I am also experiencing more than normal vaginal dryness only recently. I get excited in the bedroom but can't seem to get wet. Then when he uses lube & tries to penetrate the top of my vagina is what seems to hurt. It burns on the inside as well. I'm not sure if this can mean something bad for me, I'd really appreciate any response. Email me if you could

It sounds like like lack of lubrication is a problem for many of you but here is another idea to consider...

Channel 4, UK have just broadcast a program featuring a girl with similar symptoms to some of you (broadcast channel 4 Weds 29th July 09, 8pm "Embarrassing Teanage Bodies".

She was having pain after sex, inflamed vulva and lots of little cuts. She'd been to 3 doctors and none of them helped her. In the program she showed her problem to a doctor who referred her to a sexual health professional. After ruling out sexually transmitted infections by doing a full sexual health check the specialist then referred the girl onto a dermatologist (skin specialist). He diagnosed Vulvodynia (pain and inflamation of the vulval area with unknown cause). This can also be known as Vulvar Vestibulitis when it is in a more localised area around the vestibule or Vestibular Adenitis. He prescribed her a special soap and cream to use every morning (unfortunately it didn't say what the cream was). Anyway, they followed up with her later in the program and she said her condition had massively improved and she was now experiencing virtually no pain at all!

I think the moral of the story here girls is to persevere! Do not take "no" for an answer and do not let doctors tell you to ignore it. It is not normal to experience pain like that and you shouldn't have to put up with it. If they try and turn you away demand to be referred to a sexual health specialist or dermatologist. Or seek another opinion from another doctor if they will not give you the referral you need.

I have just recently started to experience these syptoms myself and I am booked in to see a senior specialist at the Sexual Health Centre next week.

Good luck everyone! By the way you may be able to see that program online if you're interested. Go to www.channel4.com/programmes/4od and search for "embarrassing teenage bodies" or try this link:

I have a tear around my inner vagina lip, nearing my peeing hole, far from my "you know what" hole.. its like a round circle and it constantly tears when I have sex with my bf.. I don't know if I'm being paranoid but I think it's not just such a small case.. I hope it won't tear ANYMORE! please, can anyone just tell me what to do with it? I don't want to live without sex :(. I'm a very wet girl and I am still facing this problem, I want to cure this faster and make things better, it doesn't hurt when i urine, but it hurts when i wash my vagina.. not a lot, just a little, but STILL! it's like SKIN peeling off ur finger except that it's in ur vagina.. please help :(

I have had this problem for a while. It seems that I must lubricate before intercourse or had a decent amount of foreplay. However this tear stings when my husband ejaculates.

Recently I have been using an ointment on the tear called Calendula a natural product. It has helped. Also lean forward when I urinate so that urine does not enter my vagina.

I have been told that warm baths are good for healing tears. My gynecologist prescribe estodiol cream which has helped too. However it's an ongoing issue.
