Vaginal abscess?

My left outer labia has been sore and swollen for a couple days...I just had a UTI so I thought it could be a yeast infection becuase of the antibiotics. This morning I noticed a skittle sized lump on my inner labia.  It was already "oozing"---yeah VERY gross I know. I havent been sore that much today but i am still a little swollen and there is still very little pus--more like a clear substance and barely a bump there.  Can anyone tell me whats happening? I got tested for std's and Im negative for EVERYTHING.  I no longer have health insurance so I need allll the advice and help I can get. Thanks.

Hey All

I have the same problem for over 10 years now FML... it seems to return when i will have my period sometimes in different places... I feel desperate it hurts like hell. I wonder if it could be a responce to the estrogen generated before mentruations? I don't know anymore i've had pab test for std and uti that came back neg in the past and I just feel so hopeless i've had this particular one about a week now and it stings so bad everyday is a nightmare to walk to sit even sleeping is painfull... thank you for sharing your experiances, nice to know i'm not alone in this and to see others tricks... usually for me acilisic acid helps... it stings a lot but it helps... i don't know how bad this may be for that sensitive skin but quite frankly after so many years of pain... i just am willing to try about anything...

you must go to a clinic and get it popped, then drain. If that pop on it's on, then the pus(poison) will get into your body and can kill you. Even if you can't afford it they have clinics that go by your income. You need meds to get the infections out your body, the longer you wait the worst off you going to be. I'm a RN, plus this happen too me

Let me tell you from FIRST HAND experience because just had emergency surgery because my outer lip got SUPER swollen and in just 2 days it showed to be an aggressive abscess in just 2 days that abscess got 2 inches deep and took over my entire outer lip that it looked like I had elephantitus and the open sore was getting larger at a very rapid rate of speed, something told me to go to the emergency room that my life was in danger because of it so "from the time I got there to the time the surgeon walked in I also developed a vicious form of cellulitus" that took over my entire groin in a 3 inch wide path and had traveled up to my hip ... she was shocked to find out that in just 2 lousy days it went from nothing to life threatening. Well the abscess is a staph infection turned out to be the MRSA form of staph. They did emergency surgery and when the surgeon discovered how deep it was (because it took over the entire lip) Its OPEN and packed with gauze if you end up with this ITS NO JOKE and its EXCRUCIATINGLY PAINFUL ....so the surgeon is still afraid Im going to die because of this particularly because I have heart disease so fighting 2 potentially deadly infections all by themselves could kill someone healthy but put those 2 infections in someone with heart disease and their racing to save your life. and now a nurse is having to come to my home everyday to remove the packing and repack it and this is going to continue until I completely heal from the inside out. NEVER ASSUME something is just an ingrown hair or a boil and do NOT make the mistake of playing doctor with it like I did at first go to the emergency room because it could possibly be MRSA and that is highly contagious and no joke. I ended up with mine because half of my abdomen and all of the right side of my groin is mesh 2 inches down into the muscle an the mesh tore inside which was the cause of the abscess.

Hi ladies,
I wanted to let some people know my situation as well just incase it might help. I had a swollen clit and labia on the right side that started about a week ago. I was scared and started reading all sorts of stuff on the internet to try and figure out what was going on. I have terrible medical insurance and currently cant even afford my co-pay to go see a Dr, so that wasnt an option. I read about a smegma build up under the clitoral hood and that it could cause infections. I tried looking at that area and cleaning it out and it made it WAAAAY worse, that was a terrible idea. That was 3-4 days after I first noticed the swelling.
After that the whole right area (clit, both labias) got EXTEMEMLY swollen to the point that I was having a hard time sleeping and walking due to pain. I decided to try some yeast medication just incase that was the problem (stupid, I know, but its cheap and easy). That night (last night) I woke up to an open area in one of the folds where it appears to have popped. I squeezed a bunch of pus and blood from it this morning. It feels 100 times better and I barely have any pain anymore. I plan to attempt to flush it out myself later on tonight (I have previous experience with abscesses) as long as its not too painful. Still have no idea exactly what caused it, but I hope it doesnt return!

Hi and I have currently been dealing with a abscess just as this 2 years ago I got one after sitting in a part of satin pants on hot day 3 days later it popped on it's own I kept it Very Clean and dry the entire time it went away

and when I went to my GYNO Doctor I think within a week she didn't even see it anymore, and she told me they are common and nothing to really worry about

Now I recently had a stomach aliment and My doctor prescribed me 3 different Antibiotics to treat it, after a few days of taking them I noticed i was starting to feel REALLY under the weather when i had previously been feeling fine after the medication had adjusted when i was showering I felt it, it was not yet starting to swell but, within hours of that shower it started to.

I hot a Fever and started taking mortin for it, I was talking to a friend of Mine after I read up on it and everything was telling me to go to a doctor to have it pretty much Lanced off, and I was terrified to do that because I was afraid the medication which gave me loose bowels periodically and to have a open wound was a NO NO, so i talked to a she simply said "very simple remedy.... take a peace of saturated paper towel put TOOTHPASTE on it and press it over the abscess and leave it... do this several times a day, I after the second time I noticed the puss coming out onto the the napkin,

it didn't NOT POP, it was just absorbed into the tissue, I'm on my fourth application and it's almost gone, and the Menthol in the toothpaste soothed the pain INSTANTLY, (Only if your not moving around to much and agitating it) My friend told me Just do this every day for 3 days straight and make sure it's completely dried out and you shouldn't have any more problems. I'm going to continue to follow her instructions to make sure it's fully dried out and keep an eye on it because i still have one more weeks of these medication so it may flare up again, but, that what my remedy is and IT WORKS,

But as a precaution after it has drained go to see a physician to make sure that all is good, and there isn't anything else wrong and that it has FULLY cleared up, I was more fear full because I didn't want to take MORE antibiotics on top of the one i'm ALREADY taking,

Well that my two cents I hope that helps you guys with money issue and can't go to the doctor often, and I will try to update you on the results when it's done BYE

No way..don't pin whatsoever. That can cause an even worse infection. I know its tempting because you just want it to go away!

Instead place hot moist towels on the abscess. This hot compressant will relieve pain and it'll either bring it to head or reduce it. Either way..it'll be on its way out. Try to do it several times a day.
