Hair Loss

Hi,

I've recently realized that I had a hair loss problem.. It's gotten to the point where I have some sort of cercle with no hair in the center of my brain, a little bit posterior on my skull and I also have a very somewhat large and visible hair line in the center of my head. Other asian girls like me do have that sometimes, but not as accentuate than me. I'm still a young woman, and I was wondering if there was some cure to this? I have read on the internet that it might be a consequence of intense stress, but, other than midterms and exams, I've never really felt stressed about things much in life, so I don't think it's that reason. Thank you if you can help me! :)

"First, I would recommend you make sure it isn't something as simple as a hair product you are using or the way you are wearing your hair."

To answer this, I never use any hair product, nor do I use excessive heat on the hair on that area. I usually leave my hair loose and I only pull them tight into a pony tail when I am running or doing exercise.Maybe I am pulling too ttight? I have seen many of my friends pulling their hair even tighter than me but they do not appear to have what I have and it worries me...
And about stress, I have had zona before because of stress problems when I was in highschool. That is why I think it might be stress... Thank you for your comment! I appreciate it a lot!

Thank you, I hope that not going to get a blood test was a good idea. In my area, it may take hours to get one and I have to admit that I don't want to go out much because of this problem...

Thank you so much for your answer! I went to see a physician about that problem but she laughed at me and only gave me a prescription for a drug test, although she claims it will be time consuming for me to go and that the problem will probably be solved by itself.
For now, I will pray to God that He can help me, because I don't know what is the problem at all, but I appreciate your answer! Thank you!

First, I would recommend you make sure it isn't something as simple as a hair product you are using or the way you are wearing your hair.

Are you pulling your hair tight back in pony tails or pinning it tight towards the area where the hair is missing?

Are you chemically processing the hair, using hair products or using excessive heat on the hair in that area?

If the above isn't the case, you should have your physician assess the site.

Sounds like it could be Alopecia Areata Monolocularis and there are usually two main causes for this:  stress and heredity.

Hi,  welcome.  Well, do you see where the hair is going?  Some people pull out their own hair and this is part of an anxiety disorder.  Some do lose hair when things like stress are overwhelming them, diet (especially those who are not eating much) or thyroid is not working right.

I would go to your doctor to find out the cause of the hair loss to work on that issue.  They make a product that is like rogaine for women??  But your doctor will be able to give some ideas as well.  good luck to you dear
