Vaginal symptoms, no diagnosis?

I had protected sex about 3 and a half months ago and about 4 days after I started getting a painful burning sensation in my vagina, I thought it was a yeast infection so I acquired some topical ointment to help cure it. This lasted for about a week and a half and the medication was not working. I went to the doctor and she just told me to wait it out and that is was probably yeast, but she did not test. She did a swab for herpes because I was worried about that (no cuts or sores though). This came back negative.

I was tested for all other stds, as well herpes blodd and yeast and BV and they all came back negative about a week ago.

Last weekend I had protected sex with a new partner 2 times, the first sex since above experience Sex was not painful. On Tuesday I developed the same symptoms, burning and pain around vagina, red swollen vulva. The area is visibly very red and swollen and there is pain upon touching but not when doing daily activities. I went to a clinic yesterday and she said she did not see the leisions but did a swab test for yeast. She did another swab for herpes even though there are no sores and also requested another chlamydia and gono test just to be sure.

I am wondering if anyone has had symptoms like this come on after sex? What this might be? I lean away from yeast as the presentation 4 days after the last two times I have had sex is not typical for yeast. I am going to go see a gyno as soon as my referral goes through but am just looking for some advice in the meantime for the symptoms I am having.
