What is something that could seem like a hernia but isn't?

I have a lump on the lowest part of my stomach, right below my stomach line. I've had it for a little over a year; it started as a hard spot and has become a lump. It sometimes extends to the right and left sides as well, but is mostly in the middle. The doctors thought it was a hernia, but i had a hernia repair surgery only to find out there was no hernia. When i need to use the restroom, there is more pain, but usually it just feels uncomfortable, like there is a mass of something there that shouldn't be. It doesn't hurt more when i work out or if i eat something specific, a certain time of night or anything else; the pain and discomfort seem random to me.

Have you had an abdominal MRI? It could tell you.

I've had a cat scan that didnt show anything, but not this.
Cat scans won't do it. See if your doc will order you an abdominal MRI. They are the gold standard for soft-tissue identification.
