What is the longest it has taken for UTI symptoms to appear?

How quickly do symptoms appear after sex? What is the longest it has taken for symptoms to appear?

I am 23 yrs old, I had sex this past Saturday night/Sunday morning - its Tuesday now and I am terrified of getting another one.I've been taking cranberry pills, and drinking water (though I'm always dehydrated), but I am starting to feel an ache in my lower back just above my butt.
I have gotten 3 or 4 UTIs in the past two years of only having sex 7 times but I cannot remember how long it took for them to develop each time. I do know that in the past it takes me less than an hour to have frequent urination, to start seeing blood in my pee, I am not able to leave the toilet, and the burn is so bad my body literally shakes when I am trying to pee.

Any insight into this is appreciated!

I'm not totally sure what you are asking.  UTI's happen because fecal matter (poop) gets into the urethra causing an infection.  This can happen during sex if your partner is not washing his hands when touching your anus and then fingering you or if he inserts his penis into your anus and then your vagina, etc.  Being more careful and hygienic during sex should make uti's post sex unlikely.  UTI's are indeed painful and uncomfortable.  I wouldn't become anxious that you have one unless symptoms start.  Again, it's not just sex that causes them but if fecal matter gets transferred.  And sweetie, I'm not sure symptoms for a uti would start in an hour after that fecal matter being transferred.  Other ways women get uti's is improper wiping after a bowel movement and you may have infected yourself that way.

Anyway, if you have not developed any symptoms, don't live in fear that you will.  Practice proper hygiene with both sex and wiping and you should be good.  Good luck

Yeah, I understand what UTIs are, my question was how long does it typically take for symptoms to develop and basically how many days after intercourse would one be considered in the safe zone to not getting one.

I don't have sex often, and I find it difficult to make myself pee after - all of my UTIs have been from sex and not flushing out the bacteria but I have gotten 4 out of the 7 times I have had sex so I am super paranoid. And for some women the symptoms do start very soon, however my concern was that two days after not peeing after multiple rounds of sex, I could feel an ache in my lower back and lower abdomen which I know can be a symptom or one of a kidney infection. In the past it starts with frequency and pain then blood, THEN maybe an ache.

So to sum it up:

1) What is the longest amount of time that has passed between intercourse and UTI symptom development? (1 day, 2, 4, a week?)

2) Could this ache potentially signal that one is coming despite not developing other symptoms yet?

Hopefully that makes sense! Thank you for taking the time to answer!
