Why is my period long and super weird?

I started my period when I was 13. It's been a while, so my period has been constant for years. A few weeks ago my period started 12 days early. Which was weird enough as is. Except I reached my normal period length and it didn't stop. I am now on the 19th day of my period and am planning to see a doctor this week. I have never had sex so I know that this has nothing to do with pregnancy.
Does anyone have ideas why this could be happening? How worried should I be? Hopefully I will get some definite answers soon, but until then I would love to have some idea.
(Also, I don't know how relevant this is but I've had to start taking and over-the-counter iron supplement)

Yes, agree. That's weird.  That's an unusually long period.  When we have that, it's rarely serious but we DO need to talk to our doctor.  It's not healthy to have your period for that long.  Let us know what the doctor says!  good luck
