Yeast Infection and Over the counter drugs.

I've always had a discharge from the time i started my period back in high school.  Well here lately i've been really itchy so i thought i'd try some Monostat (sp) before i called the doctor. well at night when i use it, i burn down there...the other night i noticed it made me bleed.  Well now instead of the regular dishcarge i've always had, it's brownish discharge as if it's got blood in it..anyone got any other ideas on what i can try?  The dr. doesn't know why i've got the discharge, and they've done cultures before.  I'm in need of some information.

Go see a Doctor!  I can't believe there are so many women here who are afraid! Take control, it's your body, you only get one, be in charge of it and get it checked out. You will feel so much better knowing what is wrong because you will be able to deal with it and be in control and get it sorted. Early intervention is THE best thing to do

You can't figure out what is wrong from reading these forums, really.  They are no substitute for a visit to the doctor.

A yeast infection is usually quite obvious, with white, cottage cheesey discharge, severe itching and burning.  If you are not absolutely, 100% sure it is a yeast infection, you do need to go to the doctor to have a sample taken of the discharge to figure out what it is.  No need to fear some serious illness-most discharges are common problems that can easily be treated if done with an accurate, in person diagnosis by a physician.  And if it IS something serious, wouldn't you much rather see what it is early, when you can do something right away?

Seeing your doctor is a good idea, and I hope you do.  Good luck!

I've only had unprotected sex twice...I had the discharge way before then.  And i don't use pads, i've been using tampons for my monthly flow.  I'm scared to go to a specialist just incase something really serious is wrong...I'm just sick and tired of it, and the dr. can't find out whats wrong, i've been reading through thes forums, and a lot of women have the discharge that i've got..one said antibotic would take care of it.  Maybe i should switch drs.  I'll talk to my family dr. i guess
