Hello,Can anyone answer my question?i was in a similar position to a post i read a min ago...i aint perfect neither but i slept with my ex on the 19 oct 2008 and it was only the once, then went back to my boyfriend and started sleeping with him on the 26th oct 08 onward until i found out i was pregnant,then i started to bleed on the 29th oct until the 3rd nov 08.i had my 12 weeks scan on the 12 feb 09 and they told me i was 13wks +3dys.Im now 28 weeks pregnant and my due date is on the 17th aug 09.Who is Most likely to be the farther of my child?my ex or my boyfriend?? Please help and thanks. x
you said your due dates 17th aug 09. and once again that brings your lmp to november 10th. i got thoes dates using a simple pregnancy calculator online. you plug in your due date, which you said was 17 aug 09. so i dont think what you experienced at the end of october was your period.

Yes u can get digital tests that tell u how many weeks pregnant u are....there wasnt any faint lines as it was digital.
Im only telling the truth about things and people keep telling me different.
All i want is freindly advise on things plsssssssssss.

i sware to to you that the test said 2-3 weeks on my window.Yes i am from the uk and i didnt realise u was over in america neither.We do have the tests im on about over here as i did one.i did the test with my mum.Not that that can prove it but i promise i did get that result..If u ever come accross one look on the back of the box.:)

last menstrual period (lmp) is 29th October. That's clearly stated in the first post. Date of conception would be mid november.
A urine pregnancy test cannot tell you how far along you are. Like people have said, then go on hcg hormone levels. Your first morning urine tends to have more concentrated levels so theoretically if you tested in the morning then it could say you were 4-5 weeks along but if you tested with a mid afternoon urine, it may say you are 2-3 weeks. It really is a case of how feint or dark a line is.
In most cases pregnancy tests cannot detect a pregnancy after about 12 weeks. The reason for this is that the corpus luteum (the degenerating egg follicle) produces human chorionic gonadotropin (hcg) to maintain the production of progesterone (to keep your pregnancy viable). After 12 weeks pregnancy (10 weeks gestation) progesterone production is taken over by the placenta and the corpus luteum stops producing hcg because it's not needed. But there will be exceptions to every rule.
And like has been posted, you count back 40 weeks. This is how due dates are calculated. You are given plus or minus 2 weeks because not everyone has a standard 28 day cycle and ovulates on day 14. Or rather you may want to apply Nageles rule where you look at your lmp (29th October) and add 9 months and 7 days. Which would give you an EDD of 5th of August. Your EDD is 17th August based on an ultrasound. This could either mean that you ovulated later in your cycle or your baby is smaller than expected (even possibly you were originally expecting twins). Generally if your EDD via Nageles Rule and an ultrasound differs by more than a week then they go by the ultrasound date.

i did look in the internet and did not see one that says 2 weeks pregnant. or 3 weeks pregnant. it cant tell you that.

yes they can! i am not a liar and i know what test i took.Its a clear blue weeks test can detect upto 12 weeks pregnant.Do not tell me what i did and did not take.It is a digital one! its newish,have a look on the internet if u dont beleive me.

clear blue pregnancy tests CAN NOT tell you how far along you are. i told you that. it can not tell y ou you are 2-3 weeks and 2-3 weeks is not even considered prengnat. you dont find out you are pregnant until about 4 weeks. somtimes more.
what kind of test did you use? because clear blue tests dont give you numbers. the only tests that do would be ovulation kits.

Hello,I never said i was not going to get a test done! i am going to get one done .And yes u are right about looks i wont go by the looks it will be a DNA test.Please dont think i wont get one done.
Clear blue tests do show u how far u are in wks because i did one.And its 99%accurate or i always thought they were??and it told me i was 2-3 weeks.Iv Worked back 42wks from the 17th aug and it clearly says i conceived in nov i was no where near my ex then the only time i was with him was in oct for 1 day!.u cant be pregnant for more than 42 wks pregnant can u! All i know is that i have been so stupid and i hate my self so much for this,im only trying to get some friendly advise,i know to get the dna test and i will! But i just wanted people to help me work my dates out and help me along with some Friendly Advice :)i dont mean to sound funny with anything i say.Im just young and really scared and really neeed help :( Sorry.

Doctors say its always give or take 2 weeks . Its an estimate date of conceiving , give or take two weeks .I heard this with all three of my children .
I really feel like it is pretty obvious as long as you didn't have sex with your ex after the 19th of October. There is a full month gap, if she conceived around October 19th her DD would be the same as mine, her's is a month later.

you can't go based on what the kid MAY look like. what if s/he looks like you? a paternity test is the ONLY way to be 100% sure.
yes both know! my dates clearly show who is the farther its the one im currently with.(i think)i asked my midwife when my conceiving date was and she says 17th nov 08(likely).But i do agree with grose,if it was my ex es baby i would be at least 33 weeks pregnant im no where near??!!and i had a period. :)im just getting frustrated with it all,im confused because i had a period on the 29th oct until the 3rd nov and even did a clear blue weekds test on the 8th nov and it said i was 2-3 weeks pregnant?? God knows.I think i will know who the farther is when the baby is born as my ex has 2 kids and both are ginger as as he has fairly ginger hair and the one i am currently with has very dark hair like me. x
you should still do a paternity test. do both men know they could be the father? if not you need to tell them.

From what i can work out from my scans i can say everytime i have managed to get a conceiving date in nov not oct! and i also thought with me having a period in oct that the baby is my currect bfs.I just hope for the best! and hope my dates on My scans are correct,i hear the 1st scan is most accurate,had that on the 12th feb 09 and got told i was 13wks and 3dys. x
If you aren't due until August it sounds like it is the second guy (your current bf) I am due July 14th so I am 33 weeks pregnant with a likely conception date of October 19th.
If it was your ex's baby your due date would be right around mine.

the only way you can know for sure is to have a paternity test done once the child is born.
