Below are recent test results I received. I am petrified I have cancer. I go for an endometrial biopsy on April 24th. Can anyone shed some light on this.
PELVIC ULTRASOUND CLINICAL HISTORY: Postmenopausal bleeding. TECHNIQUE: Multiple transverse and longitudinal sonographic images of the pelvis were obtained via transabdominal and transvaginal approaches. FINDINGS: The uterus is normal in size. It measures 7.8 x 3.8 x 5.2 cm. It has a homogenous, normal appearing, myometrial echotexture without significant focal abnormalities. There is a lower uterine segment subendometrial echogenic focus, which is of questionable clinical significance; it may represent an incidental calcification. The endometrial stripe measures 9 mm, which is mildly thickened in this postmenopausal female. There is a trace amount of fluid in the endocervical canal. The right ovary is normal in size and appearance; it measures 2.8 x 1.9 x 2.6 cm. The left ovary could not be identified. There are no adnexal abnormalities or free fluid in the cul-de-sac.
Impression
1. Mild endometrial thickening and trace amount of fluid in the endocervical canal. The endometrial thickening is likely due to hyperplasia. However, carcinoma would be difficult to exclude at this time. OB/GYN consultation is recommended. 2. Nonvisualization of the left ovary. 3. No other abnormalities.
