acne during pregnancy

i am sorry to keep posting questions but, there are so many things that arise during pregnancy.  I am 10 weeks and since being pregnant have had large, painful acne on my face.  It is not looking very attractive.  I have heard that this could go away during the 2nd trimester and that it is normal to break out at first.  Any experiences with this?

This is an old post but I find it very interesting!  I am @ the end of my 2WW 10DPO & for the past few days my skin is getting BAD!  I'm getting cyst type acne & tonight I have this HUGE 1"x1" THING on my forehead!!!  It feels like a bug bite cuz it itches, but I don't have a mark anywhere!  It looks like I bonked my head good!
I did Gonal-F this cycle & a trigger shot & I'm on prog. supp,'s so IDK if this is purely hormonal related???
I was getting really bad skin like this months ago when I had an endo cyst in one of my ovaries, but since that was removed & my diet is pretty good, it really cleared up nicely.....til now!
I'm HOPING it's cuz I'm pregnant!  I don't usually have these issues before AF, if I do gey zits its after AF before ovulation.  I also have a few small cyst type zits on my back & I NEVER get those!
Any thoughts????????????????

I had Horrible cystic acne during my whole pregnancy that I never had before. It was on my face, chest, back, and butt! My doctor told me I could use St.Ive's Medicated acne scrub. I think it worked a little. I am awaiting either AF or a positive HPT right now. ...and guess what is on my back right now. I hope this is a sign. Oh, and I had a girl with my first!

I had the worst acne and backne with my youngest. It sucks because you can't use anything for it, too many meds contain vitamin A, which is a major no-no. I just washed my face as usual, and hoped for the best. So far not hardly any with this one, but I didn't have issues with my first either.

Well, I am 10 weeks and I have had no acne. I told my doctor at my visit today that I thought I was having a boy! (didn't want to tell him that I was looking at all the chinese lunar calendars :) But, he looked at my face and said, "If I had to guess, I would say you're having a little girl" He said that little boys hormones usually will make the mothers face break out..... I have been using Arbonne face products throughout the pregnancy, maybe this is helping?

I had really bad acne during my pregnancy. I never had prior to pregnancy. It started to get better toward the last couple weeks before delivery...but I still had some. My hospital photos from the day my daughter was born..I had a huge zit on each cheek perfectly symmetrical to one another, and one right between my eyes. About 2 weeks after I delivered, my skin went back to normal...I didn't get any scars or anything. Good luck hun!!! These are all the fun side effects of making that sweet little baby.

Look into usiong Burt's Bee's tomato soap and toner.  I know it sounds weird but it's really good stuff.  It'a also over 90% natural so you don't have to worry about any harsh chemicals entering your system.  Most health food stores carry it.  I don't know how much it will help you b/c your's is pregnancy related, but it's probably worth a try.

I am 25 weeks pregnant and my face breaks out all the time although I had clear skin before.  (Old wive's tales say that means you're having a girl since there is more estrogen in your body than before, but turns out I'm having a boy, so scratch that idea.)  It's normal, try to get a facial cleanser with an exfoliating factor to it, it will diminish the dead skin cells that can irritate acne more.  Ever since I bought an St. Ive's apricot scrub at Wal-Mart, my acne has decreased, not gone away, but lessened some.  Keep the questions coming, it's the only way you'll find out.  HTH

i had small pimples all over my face when i was pregnant... I miscarried on 1/5 and i STILL am having pimples where i never had them before.. This is due to those wonderful things we call HORMONES!!

my face is finally clearing up.. I still have a couple on my neck (jawline) and on the tops of my arms (ew).. haha

Good luck girl.. congrats on your baby!
