bacterial vaginosis - many questions!!

around a month ago i tested positive for vaginosis, took tablets as prescribed etc. 2 weeks later, i got up in agony and had scary blisters down there, almost cried when i needed the loo. went to the clinic and they were 90% sure i had herpes. i didnt, as all my results have just come back clear except for the vaginosis one.
firstly, can vaginosis honestly get so bad that i hurts to touch/pee/have a bath and that you have what look like blisters/sores down there?! i have been having sex until it got painful, so could this have made it worse up until then?
secondly, anybody know good treatments that i can do myself? i got some 'bio-fem active gel' from boots as it has good reviews. the last set of tablets were the second time i've been treated for this, so they dont seem to be working!

Bacterial infections can get bad enough to cause secondary problems like sores/blisters. You might get relief by getting rid of the bacteria on the outside. That can be done by applying a broad spectrum bacterial ointment like Neosporin. Just apply a thin layer wherever it hurts and re-apply as it gets wiped/washed off. If it's bacteria causing your discomfort, you should feel much better in a day or two. Good luck.

quick update!! its back :(

symptoms: sores/blisters after sex, painful sex sometimes, always sore afterwards, stings a little to pee sometimes.

been tested and cleared for herpes, gonorroea, tricomoniasis, vaginosis, thrush among other things.
my doctor basically thinks its all in my head, so i may take a trip to the clinic again! they want to referr me to a gynacologist which will take ages, so i may as well see if they have any ideas first.

any suggestions let me know, it seems i need all the help i can get!

i had metronidazole the first time, and somethin beginning with t the second time (4 tablets which you take all at once)
the first lot was about a yr ago, and the second lot 2 weeks before the pain! i ended up being really sick with them tho, so wondering if they never got chance to work. off back to the doctors on wednesday anyway (bank holiday) so guess i'll be getting more tablets. not sure if the cream's doing anything, not had sex in the last 2 days so cant tell lol

i have had vaginosis for two years now and i have never had any sores or blisters. Did they give you any antibiotics to take? There are tons of home remidies for vaginosis that you can research. I take fem dophilus, but it has not cured it.
