birth control

i am 17 and considering birth control but i have a lot of wories.
i have been with my boyfriend for just over a year and hes the best thing i could ask for, i have been having trouble with my "woman" bits and he has stuck by be and we havent had sex in a bout 2 months because i dont want to cause further damage, its hard for him (lol) but he never complains about it or anything.
anyway my question is can birth control effect fertility?
i have a blood disease (not as bad as it sounds) so i cant go on the full pill, ive been on the progesterone (cant spell) only pill before because i was goin on holiday and didnt want to have a period so i only took it for 2 weeks.
i am worried that if i was to go on a borth control for a long period of time it could cause damage or if i was to come of it when i was ready bad stuff will happen to my body.
i know i most probs sound paranoid but i want to know more about bc before i consider going on it. i dont need it urgently like i said.
thanks :)
i know i could go to the doctor but i would rather hear stuff from women who have been on bc or are considering it too.

Some say that prolonged use of birth control pills (over a significant amount of years) can affect fertility but to my knowledge nothing has been proven as of yet.

This is something you really need to discuss with your doctor - they can best advise you on all your options (especially considering your blood disease). Most forms of birth control do not adversely affect your fertility (the depo provera injection being the exception - you can experience delays in conceiving after using depo provera) but honestly your doctor is the best person to talk to - they know your personal history and situation.
Ps - is your doctor helping you with the "womans bits" problems?
good luck :)

no birth control wont affect your fertility any. if a woman is able to have children it wont be affected any by birth control. if a woman is not able to have children it wont be affected any by birth control.

talk it over with your doctor
