My hormones really can affect breast tenderness.  They are often more sore right before menstruation.  I did have tender breasts when pregnant but you know it didn't start immediately.  To have symptoms of pregnancy, you have to have enough of the pregnancy hormones in your bloodstream to cause them.  These can take a little bit of time to build up.

If you are late for your period, take a test.  They are cheap and pretty accurate.  Sometimes our cycle is thrown off and is shorter or longer than usual.  Good luck (oh, when in doubt, best to check with your own doctor as well).  good luck

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hello,
Sore breasts is due to mastalgia but if there is a history of any unprotected intercourse then to confirm the status of pregnancy, I suggest you to test for pregnancy by a highly sensitive pregnancy test 10 days post ovulation with a sensitive ( 20 - 25 mIU ) pregnancy test. Also then I would suggest you to get your serum HCG levels estimated since this is more specific than urine for pregnancy tests.

It is very difficult to precisely confirm a diagnosis without examination and investigations and the answer is based on the medical information provided. For exact diagnosis, you are requested to consult your doctor. I sincerely hope that helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing.
