I would agree with Specialmom, that it sounds like you have a classic yeast infection which can cause your urine to smell funky...
As for the urine smell, that can be many things. Dehydration is the main cause of color and odor changes in urine....Foods, medication, vitamins, and medical conditions can all cause your urine to smell. Asparagus and too much garlic can make urine smell outright foul. Certain vitamins, like B6 or the clear coating on some pills, can cause a slight odor change. A yeast infection also produces its own unique "yeasty" smell. A UTI can cause odd or strong ammonia smell to your urine. The only urine smell I have read about that warrants urgent attention from a Dr. is if it smells fruity..as that can be a sign of diabetes type 2. Given that you have almost all the symptoms of a yeast infection, I would think that would be the cause of the odor as well. Good Luck and hope you get better
So, ya. I would try to drink some extra water to see if that helps with the odor and makes your urine less concentrated. Let me know if this helps that odor? You can get a urine test at the doctor to make sure you don't have a uti but since you don't have any symptoms, that seems doubtful.
Hi there. It sounds like you very well may have a yeast infection and yes, then those things can be related. The area is agitated, you've probably done some rubbing or itching for relief maybe even when asleep which happens. So, I would see your doctor or go to a clinic like planned parenthood to make sure it is yeast. They can give you a tablet that you take and works well. OR you can go with over the counter treatment and use Monostat --- I like the one day ovule. I use it before bed and wear a pad. I'm usually better in 24 to 48 hours. They make some vagisil type wipes which may give you some relief as well. And you can start on a probiotic supplement or drink the little smoothies you get in the dairy aisle daily and this helps fight yeast overgrowth.
Let me know if you have questions!!
