clotting

Every period I've ever had I've had huge blood clots. I also get severe menstrual cramps but only the first day. This is normal for me. My period is also always right on. (I track it with an app) 28 days exactly. But now that my husband and I are trying to conceive and I've started reading for tips tricks and what to expect in starting to get concerned about the blood clots. Also the lat few menstrual cycles I've had have been way off.  3 months ago I was 2 days late. That's odd for me but nothing too concerning. Then lat month I was 4 days early! And then this month I was 5 days late thinking finally I'm pregnant but then I started bleeding last night. I had my fingers crossed that it was just implantation spotting but this morning I had huge clotting. That's what got me looking into the clotting. Should I be concerned? I mean it's something I've always had. But after reading up on it could it make me infertile?

If the clotting gets worse and your period gets super heavy, you should get checked by your ob/gyn for fibroids. Cause fibroids can cause that to happen. And although some women are still able to carry a baby to term, depending on the size and location of the fibroid(s), other women end up with problems.

Maybe just keep an eye on it for now but if it gets worse, go see your ob/gyn.

Clotting is normal as it's just the uterine lining that has to be shed each month.  Some women don't get as much, but trust me, I had them a lot until I started birth control.  Doctors were never concerned about it.  My mom also had a lot of huge blood clots, and she had no problem having me and my sister or conceiving.

The slight differences in cycle could be due to hormonal differences each month.  You could see a doctor about that, if it would calm your mind.

For the TTC, make sure you're not having sex daily as it is counterproductive, but you'll want to have it frequently enough you don't miss your ovulation window.

Best wishes!
