could i be pregnant

Hi
I hope someone can help me I am taking Amoxicillin 250mg which is an anitbiotic and am also taking Loestrin 30 for birth control. I heard that the antibiotic effected the birth control so thought best to use a condom ... unfortunately it split and now I'm worried I could be pregnant.
I would really appreciate some help with this one please
Thanks

how long has it been? not sure but i think plan b can be taken up to 72 hours after sex. amoxicillin can make birth control LESS effective, it doesn't completely cancel it out though. also have you checked to see if you were ovulating the day you had sex? an easy way to figure that out is go to babycenter.com and there is an ovulation calculator.  when are you supposed to get your next period? i would just wait it out.. if you miss your next period or start feeling pregnancy symptoms (sore breasts, fatigue, frequent urination, nausea) then take a hpt.

Thanks megan I think I'm too late for the plan b pill just wondered if you had any idea whther it was more likely or unlikely that my pill would of failed. Does the pill still work a little bit or do antibiotics completely throw them off track?

it is true that antibiotics can cancel out your birth control so it was the right thing to use a condom. it is possible you're pregnant but there is no way for anyone to tell you if you are or not. if you dont want to be pregnant i would suggest getting the plan b pill immediately just in case.
