first yeast infection resistant to diflucan

desperate for help :) about 8 months ago i had a pap that came back normal except for BV. i was treated for that. about right after that i was dx w vaginal candida yeast infection (rarely itching/burning, mainly just the discharge)-my dr treated me with diflucan. it never went away. since then i have been to my gyno who cultured my yeast infection and said best medication for it was diflucan, so he also prescribed me to diflucan for 7 days-never went away. then he again prescribed me diflucan 150 once for 3 weeks. never went away!!!

this is my first yeast infection so i dont know why diflucan will not cure me. i am 22 years old, smoke and drink on the weekends, work out regularly, work nights, recently pretty stressed. tested negative for STD'S (including HIV), not a diabetic.

im starting to change my diet more to eliminate yeast and sugar, and taking probiotics--but im feeling helpless and worried! any suggestions would help please, i feel like it is only getting worse...

You need a new doctor.  Clearly, whatever you have, it's resistant to diflucan.  There are different antifungals out there.  They should take another swab to make sure it really is yeast, and maybe they can culture it and see what it's sensitive to so you don't have to keep trying different things.

Wearing loose, breathable clothing will help, since yeast doesn't like air.

Azo-Yeast is another brand you could try.

You could try neem soap or try unscented Dove soap.  Throw out your underwear and get new ones, breathable.  Make sure you keep the area clean and dry.  Do all the supplements you mention and avoid sugar, etc.  Athlete's foot is the same organism, and you can cross-contaminate easily.  Don't take baths.  Wash your towels in hot water and baking soda along with detergent.  Try sensitive skin types of detergent.  Do eat garlic.  Try YeastGuard or other OTC tablet.
