Many women do not ovulate while breastfeeding full-time, but from what I understand it definitely is still possible (esp. if you aren't bfing exclusively), and if you want to avoid a pregnancy right now you should be using birth control (the mini pill, IUD's and barrier methods are all o.k. while breastfeeding, though the first two would be through your OB).
I got pregnant with my son while nursing at 7 months. We never used b/c. Your not 100% safe, but if you are full time nursing around the clock, you chances are slim. I didn't use b/c at all while nursing my son (for 12 months). I had my first cycle around 9 months, and was careful after that.
Very possible. I have a friend who has boys 10 months apart because she thought she was safe.
What about if you are exclusivelyl breastfeeding and had your first AF? I just had my first AF and my 2-weeks ago and am exclusively bf. I guess that would mean I am ovulating??
i was trying to wean my dd for about 3 days, i failed=( she won me over, but im ttc now and i ovulated this month, and i am currently breastfeeding exclusily still, i know....its time to stop, but anyways, YES you can ovulate while breastfeeding, so beware if your trying not to, breastfeeding is NOT a full proof bc
Yes, your ovulating...this is when I got pg with my son. My daughter was 7 months old!
