herpes or yeast infection

Okay so I am literally FREAKKKKING out. Initially I went to the doctors because I had a minor tear on the inner labia(crease of my vagina) I went she took one look and said hmm. yup looks like herpes. I literally jumped up and started hysterically crying I have been in a monogamous relationship with my boyfriend for 8 months and have never had any problems. I was diagnosed with a yeast infection. So I guess my question is, is slight tearing near the labia and extreme soreness inside my vagina normal? Also I have one little pimple like bumps they don't hurt on my labia.. could it be that I have a severe yeast infection? My boyfriend and I had sex before all these problems & he has no symptoms at all. I have spent countless hours searching the web and looking up symptoms of herpes vs yeast infection and have drove myself crazy. I cant seem to stop thinking about the possibility of it being herpes, ive never come in any contact with that. Also they gave me difulcan for the yeast I am not having any itching just lots & lots of discharge (white creamy, no foul smell). The doctor did blood work and took a swab I get my results in 2 days but I am seriously freakinggg out.. someone help!! Are these signs of a yeast infection or mild herpes outbreak? :o

I am sorry to hear of your distress, I'm just hoping all your test come back negative. I can say that I have had yeast infections that did Not itch at all.  If it was herpes most likely you would see an ulcer/s or blister/s in that area, and it would be painful, I don't know if you have had a cold sore before..but it would be something like that but on or in the genital area if it were herpes. Also, and im not trying to scare you but even if you were with someone before the guy your with now, and vice versa he had a girlfriend before you, you can easily contract herpes, and have no symptoms for yrs most Stds show NO symptoms, that's the unfortunate thing. If you were diagnosed with a yeast infection though, yes u could be sore up and all around your genital area...redness.. I wish you the best!!  ....songbird
