Yeast infections are definitely nothing to be embarrassed about, most women have one at some point! There are tests and treatment kits you can get at your local pharmacy. Not an advertisement, but Monistat, a company which makes some of those products, does have a website with information and videos I've found helpful and would recommend visiting: http://www.monistat.com

Re: the yogurt treatment. I've heard of people trying this also. Yogurt contains Lactobacillus acidophilus, a strain of good bacteria that can help fight off yeast infections. Acidophilus is also available in supplement form.

Try talking with your mom first to find a solution that works best for you. With treatment yeast infections can clear up in a matter of days.
