how do you know if you are ovualting

ok well im 24 years old and the last time i had my period was christmas eve of 08.  ever since i started my period when i was 16 it has been irragular.  I usually have a period every 6 months.  ive actually gone  whole year i think without my period.  i havent gone to the doctor because i dont have insurence.  My husband and i have been trying to have a baby for about 3 years now and still nothing.  how do i know if i am ovualting.  can you still get pregnant if you dont have your period.  when i did get my period my husband and i would have sex but i still can not get pregnant.  is there something wrong with me.  PLEASE SOMEONE HELP WITH THE RIGHT ANSWERS.

Hello, I agree with Kim1989, you should get insurance.  You usually can't get pregnant if you are not having a cycle.  You can by tests from the store in the same isle as pregnancy tests that tell you if you are ovulating.  Are you under or overweight?  Sometimes if you are one or the other, its hard for you to have regular periods.  Also, you could have a problem with your ovaries like cysts or something.  I would get health insurance and get a regular doctor, or if they have Planned Parenthood where you live you can go get checked for that there.  Good luck.

you should get insurance BEFORE you start trying to have a baby. insurance is needed for your doctor apointments as well as doctors visits for the baby.
